since I didn’t do a September Soundtrack and my October Soundtrack is way overdue I’m just going to call this my Autumn Soundtrack ( also there are more songs so that’s cool)
So if my life was a movie, these are the songs they’d play for the autumn part.
Four Pink Walls EP – Alessia Cara
I put the whole EP in here just because I think she did so well with it and also I couldn’t possibly choose only one song.
I really like her voice and her lyrics work so well with it.
She’s also only a year older than me which is weird to think about, but however you should all check her music out.
Oh Wonder – Oh Wonder
Again, the whole album because I couldn’t choose.
My good friend Alma ( she also has a blog you should check out and follow her on instagram and twitter) showed me their song „Technicolour Beat“ and I’ve been obsessed with their music.
Oh Wonder is a british music duo who release a song each month and also released their self-titled debut album this year.
Their sound is kind of electro-pop, kind of alternative I don’t really know how to describe it but I am definitely digging it. If you want to know more about them please let me know and I will gladly do a whole post on them!
Windows – Lewis Watson
This song is so incredibly sweet and Lewis’ voice fits it so well.
I don’t really know what to say about this one, other than that it’s really cute and I enjoy listening to it (and every other song he ever released.)
If you’re looking for sweet but sad songs, Lewis Watson is the way to go.
Freak – Olivver The Kid
I’ve known this artist since when he was the drummer of The Neighborhood, so when I heard about him doing his own stuff now I was very excited because he is very talented at what he’s doing.
I like both of his EP’s and also most of his songs, but Freak just kind of stuck with me for the past few months. For some reason it makes me think of The Breakfast Club…..
Anyhow I think he did very well on this EP and also on his newer release, which you should definitely check out.
Temple – Kings Of Leon
My Dad always listens to Kings Of Leon, so I was always familiar with their music but a few weeks ago I started properly listening to them and I’ve had this song stuck in my head for so long.
I love love love the guitar and the drums in this song and don’t even get me started on Caleb Followill’s voice.
Dollhouse – Melanie Martinez
Dollhouse is a song from her debut album Cry Baby, but there was also an EP called Dollhouse which I really like.
Her songs kind of sound like children songs turned very edgy and spooky and I LOVE IT.
She’s really talented, not just at singing but also at song writing.
Her song „Carousel“ was featured on American Horror Story and I was very excited when I heard it I’m not going to lie.
Black Mambo – GLASS Animals
I think it was my brother who showed me Glass Animals and if he really did THANK YOU.
I wish I had an instrumental version of this because, even though the singer is crazy amazing, I like the sonic part of this song. It’s not just instruments but in the end it sounds like there’s a frog right next to you and somebody’s walking on grass and for some reason I am really digging that.
505 – Arctic Monkeys
I’m just going to cover this real quick because let’s be real, it’s the Arctic Monkeys and I don’t think there has been one song of them that I didn’t like.
I listen to them a lot but 505 just speaks to me at the moment so this song had to be on this month’s soundtrack.
WIPED OUT! – The Neighbourhood
I really think I’m going to write a whole blogpost about this album, because it is easily one of my favorite albums of 2015.
I really like their sound and how it developed since their last album and how their song writing improved.
When they released R.I.P 2 My Youth I was so hyped and they definitely did not let me down.
I think Cry Baby and Single are my favorite songs but please don’t actually make me choose because I can’t and it changes daily.
But you’ll have to look out for the blogpost if you want to know more.
12:51 – The Strokes
My brother used to listen to The Strokes a lot, I’m not really sure if he still does, but that’s probably where I heard this song for the first time.
If you don’t know who The Strokes are, they are a garage rock band from New York and the song 12:51 is from their album Room on Fire.
Thanks again to my brother for showing me this, you’re the real MVP.
I Can’t Make You Love Me – Bon Iver
Whenever I am sad I listen to Bon Iver I don’t even know what else I should do.
His voice is so soothing and I like how minimalistic this song is and how it’s more about his voice and the lyrics. His songs have a very melancholic vibe to them, which is great for when you sad or if you want to fall asleep, it works both ways to be honest.
(I don’t think this song is on Spotify so here is a link to a youtube video)
Badlands – Halsey
I made a whole post on this album, which you can read here, but if you were wondering if I am still loving it: I am and I listen to it everyday.
If you want to check out the songs here is the Spotify playlist I made with the songs I talked about. I didn’t put the whole albums in here just because it would’ve been too long. If you like the songs you should definitely check out the complete albums though!
Let me know what you are listening to at the moment!
