July Soundtrack

Hello gang,
I am back with my July Soundtrack (the last one was sooo long ago due to my hiatus, soz). I hope you enjoy it and maybe you can find some songs or artists that you enjoy and we can jam together and have band parties on twitter.

I’ll see you very soon, thank you for reading x

Heathers – Surf Curse
Surf Curse is a band that for me fits very well in the whole Beach Goth genre (do you want a post about that? Let me know please and I’ll do that). They are very upbeat and get me in such good mood whenever I listen to them.
‘Heathers’ might me my favorite song by them at the moment.
So if you are interested in Beach Goth or you like upbeat indie rock I suggest you to listen to their album ‘Buds’ (their EP Sad Boys is also great tho, definitely recommend)

Haxel Princess – Cherry Glazerr
Cherry Glazerr is a band that I always kinda knew of but I never really listened to any of their stuff but recently I’ve been really liking their songs.
‘Haxel Princess’ is one of my favorites, so if you want to check out Cherry Glazerr – listen to this song.

German Love – STRFKR
I just recently found this band through a cover they did of ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ (that I also recommend) but something about ‘German Love’ just gets me every time.
The singing can sometimes seem monotonous, which I know some people do not like, but I find that very captivating.

Paris – Magic Man
This gets me in such a good mood. I wish I could tell you more about the band or their songs, but I haven’t got around to properly check them out so for now I only have this song. And I mean it’s a bop so it’s fine.

Sleep On The Floor – The Lumineers
This is what I listen to at night. This song is so calming and relaxing for some reason and I am very likely to listen to this for the rest of my life.
By the way, their whole new album is amazing and such a good follow up to their debut.

Voyager Reprise – Surfer Blood
Again, a song that can seem monotonous but is so great! Also the little keyboard thing makes me very excited for some reason. If you are insterested in checking them out, I’d also recommend ‘Floating Vibes’ (or anything really, great band)

Bridge Burn – Little Comets
This has been one of my favorite songs for months now, so technically it isn’t my favorite song from July but I felt like it was necessary to talk about this.
Little Comets (can we just talk about how cute the name is) are an english indie rock band. Somebody described their sound as ‘kitchen sink indie’ and I can’t explain why but I feel like this is very fitting and all you really need to know.

Sheila Take A Bow – The Smiths
I think we all know about my obsession with The Smiths by now, so there is not much I have to say about this. It’s such a bop and I can listen to this for hours and not get bored.

Warm On A Cold Night – HONNE
This was on the playlist I listened to while studying for my finals. This is the sort of music I listen to when I am driving at night, I honestly think that’s what it was made for.
Also I love the beginning, when it’s just the guy talking I don’t know why but that always gets me.

If You Wanna Stay – The Griswolds
I looooove The Griswolds! I bought this on bandcamp a few months ago and I have been obsessed ever since! It’s such a jam, love the voice, love the beat- might be one of my favorite songs of 2016 so far (even though it came out on 2014, whoops).

Live at Red Rocks – Alt-J
Live albums are one of my favorite things and when I saw that one of my favorite bands is releasing one I was so down.
I am obsessed with this (already planning to get the Vinyl tbh). I think there are different opinions on this tho, my brother for example likes the studio versions of the songs better. I guess you’ll just have to listen to it yourself and form your own opinion.
My favorite might me Mathilda, but that changes on a daily basis.

Tame Impala
I’ve been listening to Tame Impala for quite some time now, but this past few weeks they have made their way up to be one of my favorite contemporary artists.
They are kind of psychedelic, kind of rock, kind of very amazing and I love it.
If you don’t know Tame Impala and you want to check them out I’d suggest you listen to their most recent album ‘Currents’ and specifically the songs ‘The Less I Know The Better’, ‘Reality In Motion’ (my fave) and ‘New Person, Same Old Mistakes’.
