Hello gang,
after my very long hiatus I am back and I apologize for not being active anywhere. I’ll try and change that (can’t promise anything tho, tried that and it worked out horribly).
I found a tag on Youtube about my favorite music related topic – Vinyl. Thought I might as well do that, since I talk about this a lot anyways.
Hope you enjoy this, let me know what you’d like to see and if you own any records!
Much love x

1. How many records do you own?
I own about 130 12″ and 70 7″ (most of the singles  are from my mum though)

2. What kind of record player do you have?
I own a Dual DTJ 301.1 record player. Never had any problems with it 10/10 would recommend.

3. How old were you when you started collecting records?
I was 15 when I got my record player and my mum gave me her records with it so I had something to listen to, but I properly started collection when I was about 16 or 17.

4. What is the oldest record you own?
Either one of my Elvis records, or the Mary Poppins soundtrack, but I can’t find the year the record was released in so I can’t be 100% sure.

5. What is the first record you ever got?
As I said, my mum gave me a bunch of her records when I got my record player, but I think the first one I listened to was Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman, so I’ll go with that.

6. What is the first record you got with your own money?
I remember buying Ed Sheeran – X, Haim – Days Are Gone and Echosmith – Talking Dreams all at once and I’m 90% sure those were the first records I bought with my one money.

7. What is your favourite coloured vinyl?
I really like coloured vinyl! I have a few, but my favorites are probably Echosmith – Talking Dreams or The Wombats – Glitterbug (also, my mum gave me a copy of Moti Special – Cold Days Hot Nights and it looks sick)

8. What is a discount album you own?
I buy about 80% of my records on the flea market so I guess they’re all discount albums. I don’t remember buying a record by a contemporary artist that was a discount album.
But yesterday a man at the flea market gave me a Toto record for free, because I bought two records from him, so I’ll say Toto – IV is my discount album.

9. What is your prized possession?
I don’t really own any records that are really expensive or rare, but one of my dearest records is Oh Wonder’s debut album, because my friends got it for me.

10. A record by a female artist
I have a few records by female artists I love, but Tracy Chapman’s self titled record will forever be my favorite.

11. A record by your favourite band
I can’t really say that I have a favorite band. But I do own This Is All Yours by Alt-J, Alles Nix Konkretes by AnnenMayKantereit and both albums, Wiped Out! and I Love You, by The Neighbourhood

12. An impulse buy
I recently got a record called Fonzie Favorites and it’s a complication of hits from the 50’s and 60’s and that was very much an impulse buy.

13. A gift
My mum and my brother once got me Iggy Pop – Brick By Brick at a flea market and surprised me with it (still one of my fav records tbh)

14. Most played record
Ohhhhhh that is so hard! I honestly don’t know. I played Amy Winehouse – Back To Black a lot over the last couple of months, but there’s a new record every few weeks that I play ridiculously often. After christmas I played Portugal. The Man – Evil Friends every day, so who knows maybe that’s my most played record.

15. A rarity
As I said, I don’t have any records that I know of that are rarities. Maybe my Mary Poppins record?

16. A rainy day record
Nina Simone – The Goddess of Jazz. I am obsessed with Nina Simone right now, I absolutely love her voice. Also Hozier’s debut album is a great rainy day record!
Or Lana Del Rey – Ultraviolence. That one’s also really good for falling asleep to be honest.

17. A feel good album
I have a few for this one because I couldn’t decide
The Kinks – Biggest Hits Compilation
The Beatles – Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
Cage The Elephant – Melophobia
Pretty Woman Soundtrack
Arctic Monkeys – Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not

18. A nostalgic record
Any of my 80s movies soundtracks! I try and collect all of the soundtrack to the movies my mum used to watch with me a few years ago. The one I feel most nostalgic about would have to be Simple Minds – Don’t You (Forget About Me).
Or Nena – Nena because it reminds me of my mum and Westernhagen – Mit Pfefferminz Bin Ich Dein Prinz because they remind me of the music my parents used to show me when I was younger. (Such different tastes in music tho hahah)

19. A Record Store Day purchase
I’ll have to skip this one, I don’t have any Record Store Day purchases (yet).

20. A recent purchase
I bought sooo many records lately, it’s kinda embarrassing. The two I am most excited about are the Woodstock soundtrack and Talking Heads live recordings
